You pay one quote, in Japanese yen, before we buy: item price + seller’s domestic shipping + delivery (+ authentication, if used) + service fee. There is no membership fee and no deposit.

Delivery
Ginza desk pickup has no delivery charge. For hotel and airport delivery inside Japan, the charge depends on the size of the parcel.

“Size” is the Japanese parcel size: the total of length + width + height in centimetres. EMS postage depends on the country and the weight of your parcel; you can check it on Japan Post’s EMS rate table, and your quote always shows the exact amount.
Items going to the same place are packed together, so you pay one delivery charge.

Authentication is optional. We strongly recommend it for brand items of ¥20,000 or more. It can only be used for Mercari items sent by Mercari’s own delivery service, and it must be chosen when the item is bought, so please decide before you pay. If an item does not pass, the item price and the authentication fee are refunded. See Authentication & Returns.

Payment
- We send you a secure Stripe payment link with your quote. You can pay by major credit or debit card.
- All prices are charged in Japanese yen (JPY). Your card issuer converts the amount into your currency and may charge its own foreign transaction fee.
- Payment is taken in full before we buy. Your bank may ask you to verify the payment (3-D Secure).
